Emergency First Aid at Work - 6 hours - Classroom based or Blended Learning

It is important to have qualified First Aiders in the workplace. This course aims to fully prepare your staff to take immediate First-Aid action when needed by giving them knowledge and confidence in their role.


SYLLABUS

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Practical including the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

  • Choking Casualty

  • Unconscious Casualty

  • Primary Survey (DRABC)

  • Recovery position

  • Treating Wounds and Control of Bleeding

  • Shock

  • Minor Injuries

  • First Aid Kits

  • Record Keeping

  • Burns

First Aid at Work - 18 hours - Classroom based or Blended Learning

Classroom based or blended learning
This course has the most comprehensive syllabus and it is very good for medium to high-risk environments. 
SYLLABUS
In addition to what is covered on the EFAW, this course also covers:

  • Managing a First Aid Scene in an Emergency​

  • The Respiratory System

  • The Cardio Vascular System

  • Circulatory Failure

  • Diabetes

  • Seizures

  • Asthma

  • Anaphylaxis shock and the use of Auto-Injector (Epi pen)

  • Head Injuries

  • Fractures

  • Dislocations

  • Sprains and Strains

  • Extreme body temperatures

Emergency Paediatric First Aid (6 hours) - Classroom based only

SYLLABUS

  • The roles and responsibilities of an emergency paediatric first aider

  • Assessing an emergency situation

  • Dealing with an unresponsive infant or child

  • Recovery Position

  • CPR and defibrillation

  • Choking

  • Minor Injuries

  • Bites and Stings

  • Seizures

  • External Bleeding

  • Hypovolaemic shock

Paediatric First Aid (12 hours) Classroom based or Blended Learning

SYLLABUS:

  • The roles and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider

  • Assessing an emergency situation

  • Dealing with an unresponsive infant or child Recovery Position CPR and defibrillation

  • Choking

  • Head, neck and back injuries Fractures

  • Anaphylaxis and allergic reactions

  • Meningitis

  • Asthma

  • Febrile Convulsions

  • Seizures

  • Diabetic Emergencies

  • Poisoning

  • Burns and scalds

  • Electric Shock

  • External Bleeding

  • Hypovolaemic Shock

  • Eye, ear and nose conditions

  • Bites and stings

  • Minor Injuries

  • Treatment for hot and cold body temperatures
